Predicting the 2020 NBA Playoffs

With the 2020 NBA season starting up this month I wanted to give my predictions about what is going to happen.

First when it comes to the Eastern conference, I think the 8 playoff teams will be:

  1. Milwaukee Bucks

  2. Toronto Raptors

  3. Boston Celtics

  4. Miami Heat

  5. Philadelphia 76ers

  6. Indiana Pacers

  7. Brooklyn Nets

  8. Orlando Magic

The Eastern conference is more set than the Western conference with only the Wizards making the season resumption outside of the top 8. I do think the top 8 will stay the same come playoff time. 

When it comes to my prediction about who will come out of the East, I would have to go with the Bucks. I know it seems like an easy pick but I do think the Raptors and Celtics both can give them a run for their money in the playoffs. But when it comes down to it I think Giannis will be too much.


Prediction: Bucks


When it comes to the West there are many teams fighting for the last two playoff seeds, at the end of the day I think the top 8 will be:

  1. Los Angeles Lakers

  2. Los Angeles Clippers

  3. Denver Nuggets

  4. Houston Rockets

  5. Oklahoma City Thunder

  6. Utah Jazz

  7. Dallas Mavericks 

  8. New Orleans Pelicans

I have the Pelicans earning the 8 seed in the west on the back of star rookie Zion Williamson. When it comes to the actual playoffs, I think it's between the two Los Angeles teams to see who wins the West. When it comes down to it, I think the Clippers have the deeper roster, and with what we saw out of Kawhi in the last year's playoffs I think they will overcome Lebron and the Lakers.


Prediction: Clippers


When it comes to a Bucks vs Clippers final, I think it would be a very hard fought series. But at the end of the day I think the Clippers depth, and Kawhi’s playoff experience will be too much for Giannis and the Bucks. I predict the Clippers to win the championship in 6 games.


NBA Finals Prediction: Clippers in 6 games

Looking at the Cubs 2020 Draft

Although the 2020 MLB season is still not a sure thing, we did at least have the 2020 draft to follow this past week. While the draft was shortened to just five rounds there is still a lot for us to discuss. 1st Round : With the 16th overall pick in the draft, the Cubs selected high school shortstop Ed Howard. To my delight the Cubs stayed local and took hometown kid Ed Howard out of Mount Carmel High School. Like myself, you might remember Ed from the famous Chicago Jackie Robinson little league team that went on to win the U.S. championship at the Little League World Series. Now 18, Ed has all the tools to become a great prospect and be the Cubs everyday shortstop in the future. Being only 18 it will be at least a few years before we see him at Wrigley, but he has a ton of future potential.  2nd Round: In the 2nd round, the Cubs selected Dallas Baptist lefty reliever Burl Carraway. Reviewing the Bears 2020 Off-season

     With most of the pieces settled for the upcoming season, I figured that I would review the Bears 2020 off-season. There is both good and bad, so let's see how they did.      To start off, we have to talk about the trade for Nick Foles. The Bears sent a 4th round pick to Jacksonville for the former Super Bowl MVP quarterback. Personally, I love this move. While Foles still comes with question marks after a disappointing injury riddled year with the Jags, I think he still brings much promise to this offense. I also am all for getting another QB into this system after the disaster that was Mitch Trubisky last year for this team. As fans we have been starved for a solid QB for so long that I am happy that they are at least trying to add one.       Next the other huge move the Bears made was adding pro bowl pass rusher Robert Quinn to the team. The Latest Cubs News

With baseball being back, there's finally some Cubs news to talk about. Players reported to Wrigley Field yesterday on the 1st of July. There then will be a kind of spring training like period up until games start on July 23rd. I don’t know about you guys, but for me that date can’t come soon enough. Also the Cubs heard back from the city of Chicago about the possibility of having people in the rooftops for the season. The city of Chicago has responded by allowing the Cubs to have 25% capacity in each of the different rooftops across from Wrigley Field. There was nothing about having fans actually in Wrigley Field, so I think it would be a safe bet that the Cubs will be playing their home games this year with no fans actually inside Wrigley Field. I know that this won’t be the same as the atmosphere of the crowd at Wrigley is what makes Cubs baseball so special, but in my opinion I would much rather have this than no baseball at all in 2020.  In more down Cubs news, today we found ...
