A Guide to Chicago Sports in 2020

Before we go too in depth, I thought that I would share a blog with you guys just going over what state we find all five major Chicago sports teams in. Just as a guide to what we will be talking about here at Chicago Sports House. We will start with the Cubs.

  • The Cubs: Since winning the World Series in 2016 the Cubs have been a perennial playoff contender, but they did miss the playoffs for the first time last year since 2015. The star power is still there though as they return Javy Baez, Anthony Rizzo, and Kris Bryant to go along with many other solid pieces. If there is a 2020 season we should expect them to be in contention for the NL central crown.

  • The Bears: Coming off a Disappointing 2019-2020 season the Bears look to rebound by making some major off-season moves. The team made a move to add former Super Bowl MVP winning quarterback Nick Foles to compete for the starting job. Hopefully for us Bears fans Foles can bring a spark to an offense that desperately needs it.

  • The Sox: The Sox have an up and coming team heading into the 2020 season, with a lot to look forward to. Young players such as Yoan Moncada and Tim Anderson return to the sox lineup after very impressive 2019 seasons. I think we should expect the Sox to take a big leap this year and possibly have an outside sot at the playoffs.

  • The Bulls: The 2020 season has come to an end for our Bulls after a once again disappointing season. As Bulls fans though we can look forward to the progression of Zach Lavine and Coby White, both coming off very promising seasons.

  • The Blackhawks: A disappointing season for the Blackhawks found them finishing in 24th place, but with expanded playoffs because of the Coronavirus we will get to see playoff hockey from our Blackhawks. They come in as an underdog, but with Patrick Kane and Jonathon Toews, you never know.

That is a quick recap on where all five major Chicago teams stand as of today, and I look forward to diving deeper into these teams with you all.
